I never realized how many cliches I use when I write. It's a really bad habit. What I am working on right now doesn't have any cliches. It is very straightforward, active writing. Word's grammer check puts it a 5th grade level. I think that's great since my mindset has been to make it something I would be comfortable letting my kids read. But I will be honest, I catch myself trying to put in cliches all the time. It's either that or adding in adjectives when I don't need them.
Better get to it for the night.
